A large and eager crowd made their way to Mississauga this afternoon for the opening of the Fall Sports Card Expo at the International Centre on Airport Road. There were many veteran card collectors in attendance and lots of new, excited faces as well.
There were long line-ups for those fans seeking autographs of Bob Pulford, Larry Jeffrey, and Pete Stemkowski. None of them left disappointed. Tomorrow will be the highlight of many fans lives with Gordie Howe making an appearance.
Upper Deck had massive line-ups for those collectors busting boxes of 2009-10 UD Artifacts and 2009-10 UD Series One hoping for a John Tavares rookie card. The Priority Signings, as usual, were a big hit. The line-ups should remain long for the rest of the weekend as the autograph redemption list is strong this season.
The In The Game booth saw many boxes of ITG Ultimate 9th Edition cracked open. The Emblem cards were out in full force and jaws were dropping everywhere. If you're in attendance, make sure that you watch some box breaks. It might entice you to buy a pack or box and join the fun.
That's it for now... more tomorrow.
